Have you heard about this amazing product line we have at Suite Pieces?
General Finishes is a collection of water and oil-based stains, pearl effects, glazes and topcoats. Many of their products can be used in several different ways and can also be mixed and matched. Here at Suite Pieces, we’ve paired different General Finishes products with many of our other lines products, such as Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint and Artisan Enhancements with amazing results.
Many of the General Finishes products can be applied simply with a foam brush. Drying times and conditions vary based on the product, but all their products are equally beautiful!

General Finishes Gel Stain are heavy-bodied and do not penetrate as deeply into the wood as liquid oil-based stains do, providing deep, rich colors. You can apply Gel Stains in a solid, opaque fashion to get a deep color or you can apply it similarly to a satin and wipe back the excess to add dimension to the wood grain. Gel Stains are sealed with General Finishes High-Performance Topcoat, in Satin, Gloss, Flat.
Java Gel Stain – This is our most popular color. Some even call ALL the gel stains “Java Gel”.
General Finishes Glaze Effects
Glaze Effects are translucent water based colors used to create beautiful decorative finishes such as distressing, marble, shabby chic, burnishing, color washing, rag rolling and wood graining.
Glaze Effects can be inter-mixed or layered to create custom colors. They may also be layered over one another to create deeper, richer looks. Glaze Effects are sealed with General Finishes High-Performance Topcoat, in Satin, Gloss, Flat.
General Finishes Pearl Effects
Pearl Effects are water based decorative, acrylic pearlescent colors used to create specialty finishes. We LOVE to add these to pieces give the piece the extra glitz! No topcoat needed.
