The Season of Giving

Christmastime is my most favoritest time of the year ; ) I seriously become like a child again…all the lights and decorations make me giddy…and there is nothing I love more than giving back.

Quite a few years ago, I was feeling a bit in a rut…like “what is my purpose in this world”, (that was long before Suite Pieces came along and I found that purpose) and I thought that maybe doing something nice for others would help me feel better. My man Joel Osteen always says that when you need something, you should go out and sew a seed…whether it be your time, an ear, some dough, or just some love…when you give of yourself, God will give back to you. So that year, even though I didn’t really have the money, I was inspired to adopt a family for the holidays and buy all their gifts. Let me tell you…when you step out in faith, the man upstairs WILL take care of the rest. I landed a few extra jobs (at that time I was cleaning houses and selling Mary Kay) and everything fell into place. I was able to bless that family with some beautiful gifts to wake up to on Christmas morning. That experience changed my life. It was the best Christmas ever. It felt so good to do something nice for others ; ) Every year since then, I have been adopting families or children, donating food, donating to charities, whatever I can to help. I just absolutely love giving back to those in need. God has blessed my spirit & my life and I feel honored to help others ; )

Well this year is no different! In honor of #givingtuesday today, we’re announcing a special promotion we’re running for the month of December.

First, I want to thank all of you for coming out this past weekend and sharing Small Business Saturday with us…it was a huge success…so Thank You! I’m pretty sure you were all digging the sales we ran…specifically, $5 off every can of our beloved Chalk Paint®. To keep the fun going, we are going to take $5 from every can of paint purchased from Dec. 1 to Dec. 24 and put it towards buying gifts for children in need this holiday season. The Suite Pieces team and I are pretty excited…we’re going to have a shopping spree evening where we take that dough and shop till we drop!! In the last 2 days, we’ve already collected almost $100…we cannot wait to report back with the final total!!!!

So please…if you are thinking of painting something this season, know that part of your purchase will be going to a pretty fabulous cause! Every time you buy a can of paint, know you’re giving back to your community! Who’s coming to buy a can…or two??

Starting in January, we’ll have a brand new loyalty program for those of you who love to shop with us. You’ll get fabulous discounts and deals so you won’t want to miss out. Our online store will be launching soon too, so you’ll be able to shop from home all things Suite Pieces ; ) Make sure you’re on our email list so you can be part of the fun!

I also wanted to share about the fundraising we did in November. We donated $10 from every sign up from our November Pinterest LIVE! event and $20 from our #AnnieSloanLate event. We were able to write a check to Island Harvest for $555 (we had some extra donations the night of #AnnieSloanLate too). WHOA! Pretty awesome!! Thank you so much to everyone who came out for the events, it definitely went to a good cause. I’m not sure how many people we fed for Thanksgiving, but I bet it was a lot with that kind of dough ; ) Thank you!

And of course, the giving doesn’t stop there ; ) We are partnering with Source the Station to host 2 of their 3 #GivingTuesday nights. We’ll have hot chocolate and a craft for the kids so mom & dad can come and shop. The rest of the shop will be 10% off too!

Check out Source the Station’s Blog post HERE for more details. Wondering what Source the Station is? Read the little snippet below, but check out their website for more info…you’ll definitely want to be part of the movement ; )
