And have you heard?? We will be opening a THIRD location in MASSAPEQUA! We are so excited and had hoped to be opening this coming weekend…however, we’re patiently waiting for a permit so keep your fingers crossed that there’s a little hustle at the town office ; ) Here’s a little sneak peek of what’s going on so far.

Keep a look out on our FACEBOOK page for more info on the opening!

So the reason I wanted to write this post was to tell you about our fabolous April Pinterest Live! Event. This month we did decorative wooden totes with Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint and the results were AMAZING! Attendees had a choice of saying for their tote. The choices were GARDEN, MARKET, HERBS or their own last name.

We put down the custom printed vinyl then we painted the totes. After the painting we pulled up the vinyl to reveal the beautiful wood color underneath. Some attendees chose to take advantage of the chippy goodness that is Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint and used a dry brush technique. Others decided to give their tote a more solid finish. No wrong choice, all came out gorgeous!

We finished up the totes using Miss Mustard Seed’s Wax products. They had a choice of using the White Wax, Antiquing Wax or Clear Wax. Each wax has a creamy texture and  provides a matte, yet durable finish. The White Wax is lightly tinted to a soft white perfect for creating an authentic white wash effect. The Antiquing Wax is lightly tinted to a rich brown, perfect for creating an authentically aged finish on a piece of painted furniture. Just like any dark or antiquing wax, it’s best to put clear wax down before using the darker wax. The Clear Furniture Wax is ideal for use on wood, marble or as a finish over Milk Paint.

The wax is so simple to use! Just apply the wax using a wax brush (if you don’t have one, you can buy it HERE!) in a small manageable area, then wipe it away with a clean. dry cloth and buff to perfection!

We decided to help you out a little and create fun boards with Miss Mustard Seed’s Paint and her three types of waxes! Keep in mind, each computer screen is going to show these colors slightly different. If you’ve seen Milk Paint in the flesh hopefully you can visualize ; )

Also, I tried really hard to get the pictures to look very close to what the board looked like here in the shop.

Take a look and enjoy!

All the products we used to make the boards and for our Pinterest LIVE! event can be purchased through our web store, by just clicking HERE.
