We hope you’re enjoying this fantastic holiday season! Even though I’ve only done a smidgen of Christmas shopping, I’ve vowed not to stress over it. I’m taking it all in and enjoying this most wonderful time of the year ; )

It’s been a really happy week over at Suite Pieces and I’d love to share what’s been going on!

Last Thursday we had a Ladies Night Out event, the 2nd in our series of monthly events. The first 2 events went so well, we’ve decided to host these on a monthly basis! We are so excited for the next 2 events we’ve planned for January & February. We’ll be officially launching this series as “Pinterest LIVE” in January!

All those DIY crafts you pin to your boards & never get to start, they gave us a call…they’d like to be completed…& that’s where we come in! We can’t wait, we’re bursting with excitement!! But we have to keep the next event a secret for a little longer…shhhh! Stay tuned for more details on January 1st!

We have to thank Tatertots & Jello for the idea on the event we held last week. While browsing around Pinterest for some inspiration, I stumbled on this Pottery Barn mirror hack done by Jen. Thanks for the inspiration Jen!

The night started off with some yummy treats & hot cocoa from Kilwins of Huntington (an amazing fudge, candy & ice cream shop). Thanks to Susan of Home Road for this picture, she also had some great thoughts about our ladies night out…check out her post here. Thanks for sharing Susan!

And we certainly cannot forget the amazing treats made by my mother-in-law…her homemade crumb cake & brownies are to die for! Thanks Tracey!

After some mingling & shopping, we did a demo of the process.

Since we had such a great turn out, we had to do 2 groups…hats off to my awesome team for keeping the night running smoothly! Mary, Katelyn, Joanne & John, you guys are the bomb!! Each group started with painting & aging their mirrors & then moved on to the vinyl station, where Mary was holding down the fort ; )

Instead of using muriatic acid to age our mirrors (that seemed like a bit too much work and too chemically for our liking), we used a Chalk Paint® splatter technique (very high tech ; ) and guests had the choice to make it look aged (using Graphite Chalk Paint®) or snowy (using Pure White Chalk Paint®). We had just ordered a Silhouette Cameo to do some projects around the shop and we thought it would be a great idea to use it for our party! We cut vinyl decals to apply to everyone’s mirror. We contacted all our fabulous guests before hand so we could customize each vinyl to work with their mirrors.

Check out this little demo by one of our attendees that night, http://instagram.com/p/h2HqTWLIon/, perfect technique ; )

At the end of the night, everyone went home with a finished mirror & a goodie bag full of Suite treats! I think everyone had a great time…including me ; ) I feel so blessed to be doing what I love and helping others find their creativity too. Thank you Lord…you are so amazing ; )

On another happy note, this past Monday night, I got to celebrate my team with an evening out at Restaurant Joanina…my favorite place in Huntington!

And after hubs reminded me he is an employee that doesn’t actually get paid, we even invited him along ; ) Thanks for all your sacrificial weekends babe! I love you with all my heart!

We laughed and ate and drank…and we were merry ; ) Thanks for joining me guys, I love all of you and appreciate you so very much!So how are you doing this holiday season? I hope you’re feeling Blessed, not Stressed as my man Joel would say ; ) Everything will get done, I can assure you of that…enjoy this time of year…it only comes around once every 365 days! Hope to see you in one of the shops soon! Thanks for being the best customers around ; )
